* Evans is a CILEX Chartered Legal Executive with limited practice rights in England and Wales. How he is able to call himself a lawyer under their laws, I have no idea, but in reality, he is a glorified paralegal.

Challenge accepted, Evans. I’ve been more than happy to fact-check you.

Billy McFarland, the orchestrator of the infamous Fyre Festival; Anna Sorokin, who posed as a wealthy socialite under the alias Anna Delvey to defraud; Bernie Madoff, mastermind of one of history’s largest Ponzi schemes; and Jordan Belfort, infamously known as the Wolf of Wall Street, share one common thread: people sensed something was amiss, but few acted on it. In the aftermath, many have come forward, recounting how the numbers, the stories, or the so-called “facts” didn’t add up even at the time. Yet, despite these red flags, little was done to stop them before their frauds reached catastrophic proportions.

However, unlike those who saw the signs, I have no hesitation in confronting a scammer and fraudster like Cal Evans of Gresham International and using his own words and misrepresentations against him. This lesson should be learned: never provoke a skilled professional whose former duty, as required by law, was to zealously advocate for his clients and who now, unbound by those obligations, is free to pursue the truth with the same dedication and intensity once reserved for that role. Evans’ misstep has thus unleashed a formidable opponent—one committed to exposing the truth with precision and resolve.

This is going to be a doozy, as I’m still responding to various regulators and government agencies. I need to know if I missed anything (I’m sure I have). As such, I have created this list of all the currently known lies, frauds, and/or deceptions that Cal Evans of Gresham International has tried to play on the world.

If you have anything that should be added to the list or anything you want to share that you don’t want on the list, please reach out to me. All the citations will be in a full, comprehensive list with evidence by mid-September.

Thank you for your help, and as always, stay vigilant out there against scammers! If they will lie about easily verifiable information, they will lie about anything!

Please note all the evidence is slowly being added below. It’s a lot. I mean a lot of lies and a lot of evidence, so please bear with me.

The Crypto Con Lawyer: The List & the Evidence

1. Cal Evans’ LinkedIn profile formerly displayed a fake LSAT score.

Evans claims to have received a 19/20 on the Law School Admission Test, a test required for admission to all American Bar Association-approved law schools in the United States. However, the actual LSAT scoring range is from 120 to 180. There has never been an LSAT score out of 20.

(Source: https://linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans; taken approximately March/April 2024)

2. Cal Evans provided a fake LNAT score because he got the results wrong and changed it from the LSAT.

I believe Evans changed his profile due to me pointing this out in these articles. However, Evans got the score wrong for the 2005 LNAT which is further proof he is lying.

(Source: https://linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans; currently on his profile as of September 2024)

3. Cal Evans does not have honors with his LLB degree.

Cal Evans of Gresham International claims to have received “honors” with his LLB degree. However, that’s not true. As you can see here on his LinkedIn profile and other media, he claims to have “honors” but regulatory filings and his commencement speech and introduction at Surrey is clear that is not the case.

(Sources: https://linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans; and SoMee Regulation CF, Form CF filing https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1675390/000167539021000001/someec.pdf)

4. Cal Evans does not have a Master of Laws degree.

(Source: https://x.com/Brit_blockchain/status/1143989536051093504)

As you can see by this June 26, 2019 Twitter post (two months after being licensed by CILEX as a Chartered Legal Executive), Evans claims to have a “LLM” or Master of Laws degree. However, that’s not true. As you can see from the regulatory filing above and his commencement speech and introduction at Surrey, he does not have a Master of Laws degree.

5. Cal Evans’ “Singapore” Master of Business Administration (“MBA”) is a deceitful tactic to claim a prestigious MBA

(Source: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/forever-surrey-5a096a6_we-are-delighted-that-alum-cal-evans-will-activity-7217483160396181505-U3Y3; we will come back to all the lies in this social media post throughout this list but they are also viewable here for a detailed analysis: PART VII: The University of Surrey & How Cal Evans of Gresham International Deceives the Public https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/08/08/part-vii-the-university-of-surrey-how-cal-evans-of-gresham-international-deceives-the-public/)

Evans claims the vague “Singapore” when listing his MBA because most of the West does not know the different in the various prestigious institutions there especially the famous National University of Singapore. And, while the Singapore Business School has some accreditations, it has no global ranking and when examined, appears significantly different than its peers in Singapore. For example, it only costs $2,990 in a one time payment (but can be found for as low as $690) and takes 6 months to complete compared to the real universities that cost $90,000 or more and a minimum of 10 months at an accelerated pace.

(Source: https://www.sbs-online.world/mba/fee-structure)

There are A LOT of MBA schools in Singapore. The prestigious institutions include:

(Source: https://www.usnews.com/education/best-global-universities/search?country=singapore; and https://rankings.ft.com/business-education/masters-in-business-administration (not shown))

Notice what is not included or mentioned at all in these lists is “Singapore Business School.” What is also incredibly interesting, given Evans propensity for the lime light, is his profile is not on the alumni web page of the Singapore Business School raising questions of whether he actually completed this degree or not. (Source: https://www.sbs-online.world/about/alumni?e65f63c1_page=2; note it is in alphabetical order but as of September 2024, I’ve received all pages and could not locate his profile.)

6. Cal Evans never attended Yale; he has a $50 Coursera certificate that takes about 35 hours to complete.

Evans likes to claim in various media posts that he attended Yale but they all original here in 2017. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. He received a certificate from Yale in “Financial Markets” that takes about ~35 hours and costs about $50 but can be done for free. His Coursera blockchain-based certificate has not been found online which raises questions of whether he even completed this certificate. His use of “certificate from Yale” in recent social media is proof that he knows he is trying to sound more competent than he is. This list is to help show that he is not only incompetent but a con man too.

(Source: https://cointelegraph.com/authors/cal-evans; https://www.linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans; and https://www.coursera.org/learn/financial-markets-global)

7. Cal Evans does not have a practice certificate in the United Kingdom to practice law.

Evans is a Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) Chartered Legal Executive as of April 26, 2019 (this date will be brought up a lot below). Chartered Legal Executives have limited practice rights in the England and Wales and are not supposed to take on “reserved legal activities” without supervision. How he is able to operate a law firm in the United Kingdom has not been answered yet by CILEX.

Source: https://cilexportal.cilexgroup.org.uk/CILEX-Directory?query=2ED788056A58C3DAD1FA7289B302577A198EB0B51CD04E6A8AA29623E6E639E7047101A556948E33)

(Source: https://cilexregulation.org.uk/i-am-an-applicant/cilex-practitioner/)

8. Cal Evans has only been licensed by CILEX since April 26, 2019, despite providing legal advice before then.

As mentioned above, Evans has only been licensed since April 26, 2019 as Chartered Legal Executive. However that hasn’t stopped him from giving out legal advice to countless Initial Coin Offerings. (Still compiling a complete list so if you think you have one I missed, please reach out!) As seen here, he was “Chief Legal Advisor” for GloCal at early as August 31, 2017. That’s an eye watering 603 days before he was a “lawyer.”

(Sources: https://cilexportal.cilexgroup.org.uk/CILEX-Directory?query=2ED788056A58C3DAD1FA7289B302577A198EB0B51CD04E6A8AA29623E6E639E7047101A556948E33 and https://www.instagram.com/p/BYeCtw3Do-8/?hl=en)

9. Cal Evans is not a solicitor or barrister.

Cal Evans of Gresham International is not a solicitor or barrister. This is incredibly relevant as we discuss his ability to practice in front of the Dubai International Finance Centre (“DIFC”). He has no ability in the UK to appear before court like a barrister and has no ability to practice actual full fledge law like a solicitor or even a properly licensed CILEX Practitioner.

For the Barristers list, you can review it for yourself in the Sources but none of the 105 listed and 2 sanctioned non-practicing Barrister are Callum Evans or Cal Evans of Gresham International.

(Sources: https://www.sra.org.uk/consumers/register/; https://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk/search/results?Pro=True&Type=1&Name=Callum_Evans&; and https://www.barstandardsboard.org.uk/for-the-public/search-a-barristers-record/the-barristers-register.html?q=Callum%20Evans)

10. Cal Evans is not a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) but has claimed to be.

Claiming he is a member but “non-practicing” is misleading. He isn’t regulated by SRA in any form or fashion unless, for the incredibly narrow exception as it has been explained to me by SRA, he holds himself out as a barrister or solicitor. The United Kingdom is a special place.

(Source: https://corporateinvestmenttimes.com/CIT18/Crypto-Investment-Times-July-2019.pdf; don’t worry, we will be back to this dumpster fire media. It should be noted that Facebook’s Libra is discussed in this document but makes no mention of Evans.)

11. Cal Evans did not work for a top 10 California law firm.

Evans worked for “Colman Macdonald LLP”, now Colman Perkins Law Group with a respectable and legitimate 15-26 lawyers on staff. But, it is by no means a “top 10 California law firm” according to any recognizable metric or ranking system. Furthermore, he was only a “case manager” there so his actual legal exposure is arguably less than a paralegal. No offense to the case mangers out there but its more document and people chasing than legal work, in my personal and professional opinion.

(Sources: https://colmanlawgroup.com/announcing-colman-perkins-law-group/; https://law.usnews.com/law-firms/colman-perkins-law-group-158382; and https://www.bcgsearch.com/bestlawfirms/Kr0Zt/Colman-Perkins-Law-Group/rankings)

12. Cal Evans never was a legal “associate” in California.

Evans claim he was a “junior associate” in Greater Los Angeles for the Law office (sic) of Carlos Negrete. (Yes, he misspelled “corporate”.) Now, sadly Mr. Negrete has passed away but there is one thing that is clear, Evans has never held a California law license making this a complete fabrication. Meaning he held himself out as having the ability to practice law in California, a matter we will touch on more below. (hint: its a crime). Also, we assume “UH” is Utah but, with Mr. Negrete gone, we cannot say for sure.

(Sources: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans and https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/attorney/LicenseeSearch/QuickSearch?FreeText=callum+evans&SoundsLike=false)

13. Cal Evans never was “Head of Legal” in the UK.

As mentioned above, Cal Evans was licensed by CILEX on April 26, 2019. He was not a “lawyer” in the UK during December 2009 and December 2012. I know because its legally impossible but he’s stating this is because “trg Logistics” was acquired and there is no way to find those employee records. However, as stated above, if he wasn’t licensed before then (which he wasn’t) he could not have been a “Defense Lawyer and Head of Legal.” Its like claiming Regional Manager of Blockbuster for the South East or Vice President of Acquisitions at Sears, however, unlike these positions, the directors above do not lie.

(Sources: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans; https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/206607-88#overview)

14. Cal Evans never worked for the largest logistics firm in the UK.

I have it on good authority at this time Evans was in recruitment instead of working at “trg Logistics.” There is nothing wrong with recruiting, except the fact that Evans lied about his time there which is corroborated by the fact he uses his “CertRP” which stands for Certificate in Recruitment Practice on his “full title” claim for this ICO seven years ago. It has been since removed from his profile. (Notice he confirms the lies of Esq. (which we will talk about in a bit), LLB with honors, and LLM here too!)

(Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Everex/comments/72ox64/receiving_email_asking_my_kyc/)

15. There is no proof that Cal Evans worked in Silicon Valley or with Silicon Valley “firms” or companies.

There is no proof that Evans worked for, with firms or companies in Silicon Valley. Colman Macdonald LLP may have had an office in San Francisco (they currently do not have one now) but we cannot prove that to be the case. However, even if it was, it was for insurance defense or defense litigation. Neither are related to “Silicon Valley.”

(Sources: https://cointelegraph.com/authors/cal-evans and https://www.clanity.com/)

16. Cal Evans has never been an Esquire.

As have seen in his British Blockchain Association Twitter post and Everex Reddit thread, he claims he is an “Esquire.” This is completely false and while it is not unlawful to use in England, it is unlawful to use in the United States. But more on that later down the list…

(Sources: https://x.com/Brit_blockchain/status/1143989536051093504 and https://www.reddit.com/r/Everex/comments/72ox64/receiving_email_asking_my_kyc/)

17. Cal Evans has never been licensed in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin “in-house” practice rights are not a Wisconsin law license (Note: he has lost these practice rights and now is being investigated for criminal charges. More on that below). This has upset Evans because Wisconsin is one of the very few states that allow for graduates of local law schools in Wisconsin to forgo the Wisconsin Bar and have full practice rights. This is where Evans hateful statements of U.S. lawyers comes in.

(Source: Proton link to Document; and https://cryptoslate.com/crypto-law-firm-gresham-advises-against-us-presence-cites-unfavorable-regulatory-environment/. Please not, as discussed in Part I: Cal Evans of Gresham International is a Scammer, this statement is ridiculous and all lawyers have more knowledge and experience than CILEX lawyers. https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/05/28/part-i-cal-evans-of-gresham-international-is-a-scammer/)

18. Cal Evans is being criminally investigated in Wisconsin for fraud and/or the unlicensed practice of law.

As stated in PART IV: Cal Evans Receives a Criminal Referral from the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, Evans is being investigated by local police and the district attorney’s office in Wisconsin where he lives. And, while he like all potential criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the facts are not in his favor.

(Sources: proton document and https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/11/part-iv-evans-receives-a-criminal-referral-from-the-supreme-court-of-wisconsin/)

19. Cal Evans is not regulated by the Ukraine Bar Association.

Evans likes to claim that he is regulated and/or licensed by entities that are not regulators. It makes him look and/or feel important. The Ukraine Bar Association is one of those entities that is not a regulator but he claims is in order to appear more worldly. (You an tell the UBA is not a regulator because it does state is is a regulator. I have emails too if you would like those just reach out.)

(Sources: https://uba.ua/eng/about and https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/regulator-information

20. Cal Evans never had a Ukrainian license.

Evans has claimed he has the ability to practice law in Ukraine and is one of the truly more mind-blowing elements of his lies because the Ukrainians are incredibly friendly and more than willing to confirm registration as you see here. The fact that he would claim its his license and/or practice rights are “Suspended due to conflict” is even more disgusting.

(Sources: Email Proton PDF and https://www.vbs.live/speakers/cal-evans/)

21. Cal Evans never had a Dubai license.

Evans has never and will never be a Dubai licensed lawyer. He is licensed by DIFC which he lied to receive practice rights there and we will discuss that in a bit, however, there is no proof whatsoever that Evans had the right to call himself or present himself as a Dubai licensed lawyer. He is not on the roles of role of “Search for an Advocate / Legal Consultant” which contains those that are able to call themselves lawyers in Dubai. What is funny though is he is going to claim that it is his “British English” that confused him again. Like that should be any excuse for a so-called “award winning international crypto lawyer.”

22. Cal Evans doesn’t appear to have a license in Ras Al-Khaimah (RAK).

Recently on or about July 18, 2024, HAQQ hosted a legal webinar entitled “Digital Assets in the GCC | Mr. Cal Evans” in which he claims to be licensed by Ras Al-Khaimah (“RAK”). However, there is no evidence whatsoever he is licensed there and even if he is, it is reasonably presumable to believe that he lied on the application, as discussed below.

(Sources: At about 6:08 he states working with Ras Al-Khaimah; https://youtu.be/BWskV6cW1gs?t=361 and here is the legal director: https://courts.rak.ae/en/Pages/lawyers.aspx. Note it is in Arabic but “Evans” in Arabic does not appear “إيفانز”)

23. Cal Evans lied to DIFC about practicing rights to get practice rights there.

As stated in his webinar he is holding himself out to work in Dubai as “making a bigger foot print in the GCC” and calling one’s self a “Dubai lawyer” can only mean. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely that the DIFC would have accepted him if they knew he had limited practice rights in his own country and therefore it was only possible to receive some sort of letter of good standing instead of a practice rights certificate. Additionally, his claim that he is a “full service law firm” in the UAE sounds like a problem along with the UAE Whatsapp number.

24. Cal Evans never had the ability to practice law in Gibraltar.

Evans is a CILEX Chartered Legal Executive with no practice rights. As such he is not able to work in Gibraltar as a lawyer and his statement made on his Gitbook in 2023 confirms that despite the Act coming into affect in 2022.

(Source: https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/special-notice-gibraltar; https://www.gibyellow.gi/listing/k:Cal+Evans; and https://lawcouncil.gi/)

25. Cal Evans never had the ability to practice law in Seychelles.

Evans has represented numerous companies in the Seychelles, as discussed below, and even claimed that he is seeking admission in the Republic of Seychelles. However, as of the time of this writing, he has not been accepted and we are awaiting confirmation on whether or not the are going to pursue legal charges against him for the unlicensed practice of law there as CILEX Chartered Legal Executives do not have practice practice rights there according to the Seychelles website.

26. Cal Evans never had a license in Hong Kong.

Evans used to claim Hong Kong offices in January 24, 2018 before being licensed he set up show there and July 3, 2020 he dissolved Gresham International Corporate Services Limited after claiming to be general counsel for Bitfineon in Hong Kong in January 24, 2020. (More Bitfineon later)

27. There is no record of Cal Evans having a license or limited practice rights in Belize.

There is no evidence that CILEX Chartered Legal Executives have practice rights in Belize nor is there any evidence that Evans has limited practice rights and/or a law license there. (I am awaiting confirmation from the Belize)

(Sources: Aubit. PDF and https://www.agm.gov.bz/contact/#9)

28. There is no record of Cal Evans having a license or limited practice rights in the Cook Islands.

There is no evidence that CILEX Chartered Legal Executives have practice rights in the Cook Island nor is there any evidence that Evans has a license or practice rights there. (I am awaiting confirmation from the Cook Islands) This coupled with his FINRA and Ukraine lies shows that he has a fundamental inability to tell the truth.

(Sources: Aubit. PDF and https://www.cookislandslawsociety.co.ck/)

29. There is no such thing as a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) “Registered Legal Professional”

There is no such thing as a FINRA “Registered Legal Professional” and the only so-called “courses” that sell this “license” are fraudulent but there is nothing on the FINRA.org website that has any type of license or otherwise of “Registered Legal Professional.”

(Sources: https://linkedin.com/in/mrcalevans and https://www.finra.org/)

30. Cal Evans lied about raising over $1 billion for clients of Gresham International.

Evans claims that Gresham International, since 2015 and before he was licensed by CILEX, has helped raise over $1 billion dollars for clients. That is so laughable absurd it boards on ridiculous. There is absolutely no way that Evans and/or Gresham has raised that much money. In context, and as discussed in greater detail below, Evans cannot raise $3 million for his own startup which is the equivalent of being able to raise $1,000 for others but not being able to raise $3 for yourself. It is so fundamental absurd that it truly cannot be real. But, in 2020 he claimed to have raised $500 million already under the Bitfineon press release (this is likely wire fraud or securities fraud).

(Source: https://www.gresham-international.com/ and and https://thebitcoinnews.com/bitfineon-ltd-retains-cal-evans-of-gresham-international-as-legal-counsel/. Please notice the lies about Yale School of Management, University of Surrey minus the “honors” and the ability to practice in the US and Ukraine)

31. Cal Evans lied about being regulated by the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.

On May 17, 2024, I received Evans’ laughable cease-and-desist, through a third-party because he is Evans and cannot get addresses correct and is afraid to email me. (My response can be read here: PART III: A Glorified Paralegal Cannot Scare Real Lawyers with a Laughable Cease-and-Desist https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/05/28/part-iii-glorified-paralegals-cannot-scare-real-lawyers-with-a-laughable-cease-and-desist/) In that cease-and-desist, among many other lies and falsehoods, was the one of the most egregious lies I’ve seen in quite some time. The claim that the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (“CLA”) was a regulator! The CLA isn’t a regulator. Notice how there is no mention of regulatory or governmental functions whatsoever on their website. This is such a ridiculous lie, easily variable lie that it boards on the absurd its like claiming the America Bar Association regulates American lawyers (foreshadowing).

What is interesting to note is that the Commonwealth Lawyers Association is not on his list of so-called “regulators” on Gresham International’s Gitbook.

(Sources: C&D PDF from Evans; https://www.commonwealthlawyers.com/about/#objectives and https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/regulator-information)

32. Cal Evans lied about being regulated by the American Bar Association.

Evans claims that the American Bar Association is a regulator because he is both, “foreign and in-house counsel.” This categorically absurd but further proof that he has no idea what he is stating or wants to intentionally misrepresent facts to appear more important than he is. Either way, this type of person should not be a so-called “lawyer.” (This is discussed in greater detail here: Understanding Basic Due Diligence: The American Bar Association is NOT a Regulatory Authority https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/25/understanding-basic-due-diligence-the-american-bar-association-is-not-a-regulatory-authority/)

33. Cal Evans lied about being regulated by the British Blockchain Association.

I understand why Evans would want to claim the British Blockchain Association is a regulator. That would give these lies about being an (1) Esq., (2) having an LLB with “honors, (3) having an “LLM” (Master of Laws degree) and (4) being “Legal & Strategic Advisor, (to Facebook’s) Libra merit. However, nothing could be further from the case. While I could not get an statement from the British Blockchain Association, I assure that they do not regulate anyone in the United Kingdom or the world. They are a voluntary that claims to be “…one of the world’s most prestigious and most influential voices on Blockchain. Established in 2017, BBA is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes Evidence-Based adoption of Blockchain and other Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) across the public and private sectors.”

How they can claim to be the world’s most prestigious and most influential voices while claiming to be “evidence-based” yet let this liar in is beyond and everyone I’ve spoken with.

34. Cal Evans lied to CILEX about being licensed in Dubai.

In 2021, I filed a complaint with CILEX about Evans many lies including claiming he was licensed in Dubai. He summited these false and contradicting documents to show he was licensed in Dubai (and RAK). But, not only does DIFC prohibit, as mentioned above, that someone appears to be a “full service law firm” but they cannot also operate as “International” practitioner as DIFC counsel while having offices in Dubai. But, CILEX never verified any of this information with Dubai so one of his many lies worked for him.

(Sources: PDF CILEX decision and Dubai Email)

35. Cal Evans lied to CILEX about being licensed in Ukraine.

Similarly, in that same complaint to CILEX about Evans, he falsely claimed to be a licensed in Ukraine he submitted these lies that CILEX did not independently verify with one simple email.

When translated as Evans and CILEX failed to do, it states: Surname: Evans Name: Callum Year of birth: Tony Date of birth: 23/11/1987 Place of higher education: University Of Law Year of completion: 2012 Place of work: Gresham International Position: Lawyer Address: 71-75 Shelton Street Covent Garden London WC2H 9JQ Telephone: +441172309889 E-mail: cevans@greshaminternational.com Are you a member of the BAR: Member of the Association What is your certificate of the right to practice law: Yes. 2019 Entry fee: 1000″

Remember April 26, 2019 is when he became a CILEX Chartered Legal Executive and CILEX never checked that he lied to the non-regulatory Ukrainian Bar Association but instead took a non-English translation as proof he had practice rights. You cannot make this up.

(Source: CILEX Decision.pdf; Yes, this is the exact screenshot he sent in. Numbers and all. Not the full email which presumably would have shown the lie.)

36. Cal Evans never worked for Facebook’s Libra.

However, it continues to get better. Facebook or Meta is one of the largest, most popular technology companies on the planet. Claiming to have worked there is often something that sticks in people’s professional bios for life. However, when the British Blockchain Association promulgated this lie that Evans worked for Libra and hosted an event called “The World Post Libra” you think they would have verified in some for or fashion how a CILEX Chartered Legal Executive who has only been licensed for two months received this prestigious position. Well I did their job for them, and contacted multiple people at Libra or associated with it and this is one of my favor response.

(Source: https://x.com/Brit_blockchain/status/1143989536051093504?s=20 and internally redacted message on LinkedIn.)

37. Cal Evans does not live in London; he lives in Wisconsin.

Evans claims he is an international lawyer and lives in London on his public profiles but in reality, he lives in Wisconsin. (If you’re trying to sue him, let me know and I’ll tell you the county.)

(Source: Linkedin and LedgerScore response)

38. Cal Evans doesn’t sign letters or put who signed letters in an attempt to claim he didn’t author them.

I’ve only seen this with another lawyer in court where he has someone else sign the document and then claimed he didn’t authorize them too. I reasonably presume that is the same method here Evans is attempted to use as he either (1) doesn’t sign the document (s/’name’ is in appropriate unless its through a court filing system) or (2) he signs something but there is no way of telling who the signer is. These types of childish tactics should make you wary of anything received or allegedly signed by him.

39. Cal Evans has created hit pieces on the lawyer suing him in Wyoming for fraud (Bobb Cornish).

Evans is being sued for fraud in Wyoming by Robert “Bob” Cornish because he was legal counsel and introduced Bob’s client, Nathan of LedgerScore to Aubit/Freeway which was subsequently found to be a rug pull in the sum of approximately $160 million total. Evans is upset about being sued and created this hit piece on “Bobb” (sic) because Evans is scared and cannot spell or use proper grammar. (Notice how he doesn’t capitalized “office”? That’s the same thing he did in the Law office (sic) of Carlos Negrete, as seen above).

40. Cal Evans was legal counsel for the Giza scam.

In an article in CNBC, that Evans would later go on to brag about no less than ten times (as seen below), Evans admits to be “Legal advisor” to Giza which was rug pull that cost more than $2 million dollars in 2018. Yep, 2018 before he was licensed in April 2019.

41. Cal Evans was legal counsel for the $10 million dollar Ardana scam.

A Medium and Reddit post exposes Cal Evans’ involvement as legal counsel for the Ardana project, which turned out to be a rug pull scam.

(Sources: https://medium.com/ardana-hub/meet-ardanas-team-of-advisors-dabd0ffa1dce and https://www.reddit.com/r/cardano/comments/16m2gsk/ardana_rugpull_was_recently_exposed_check_out_the/)

42. Cal Evans was legal counsel for the Aubit/Freeway scam.

His own unlawful legal opinion (as seen below), Facebook posts and YouTube videos showcase Evans’ role as legal advisor to the fraudulent Aubit/Freeway project.

43. Cal Evans attempted to scam Sushi DAO.

The Sushi saga needs its own article, but for now, Protos does a very good job of explaining how things went down. Basically, Fenwick & West (an internationally known firm) was randomly replaced with Gresham International, whom no one had heard of but somehow managed to receive the majority of the DAO vote. Then, fast forward a year or so, and the decentralized autonomous organization (“DAO”) treasury is being set to become a more centralized ‘Sushi Labs’ with Evans and Gresham as the controllers of the UK entity. Sounds sketchy, huh? Well, a little less than two weeks after speaking with Sushi’s real US lawyers, “Sushi Labs has discontinued its prior relationship with Gresham International.” Now whether he actually controls the underlying entity is still a question no one has answered publicly. Or at least that I can find.

(Sources: https://protos.com/sushi-deletes-discussion-of-law-firm-amid-long-restructuring/; https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/15215336/officers; and https://www.prweb.com/releases/sushi-labs-restructures-legal-team-and-gears-up-for-a-multi-token-defi-protocol-ecosystem-302184182.html. Also, it should be noted that Gresham International’s UK entities are controlled by Colin Evans, Cal’s dad. A lot to unpack there.)

44. Cal Evans claims to be the “Original Crypto Lawyer”

Cal Evans of Gresham International was licensed on April 26, 2019 and, despite only being licensed in 2019, Bitcoin originated in 2009, the first Initial Coin Offering (“ICO”) was held by Mastercoin in July 2013, and Ethereum’s was in 2016. To say Evans was the “Original Crypto Lawyer” is like your local pizza joint having the “Best Pizza in the World.” But, unlike the pizza, Evans lies affect people and who they hire as their lawyer. These types of lies are not only so ridiculous but do not match up to his limited history in the law.

45. Cal Evans claims to have invented the Hybrid Token Offering.

Evans was licensed by CILEX on April 26, 2019 but he claims to have invented the Hybrid Token Offering in December 2, 2018. But it was created and pioneered way before Evans was even a lawyer.

The brilliant Mark Radcliffe, a legendary DL Piper lawyer and team were the first to introduce the concept to law. Not Cal Evans. He wasn’t even the first to repeat what they had done. So you cannot really call yourself a “HTO pioneer” if its been around longer than you have been licensed.

46. Cal Evans has created fake Twitter profiles to mess with the SEO of negative articles involving his fraud.

As discussed in greater detail in Understanding Basic Due Diligence: How Cal Evans of Gresham International has Created Fake Twitter and Crunchbase Profiles To Disrupt Search Results, Evans is doing anything he can to suppress the search results for these articles including using creepy AI-generated man.

(Sources: https://x.com/EvansCallawyer and https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/08/29/understanding-basic-due-diligence-how-cal-evans-of-gresham-international-has-created-fake-twitter-and-crunchbase-profiles-to-disrupt-search-results/)

47. Cal Evans has created a fake Quora profile and answers generated by AI to mess with SEO.

One of Evans’ newest attempts is to bury these articles by having someone publish answers of clearly AI-generated content on the popular answer site Quora. At least I think it’s someone else. They call themselves “Cale” five times in the bio, and given Evans’ refusal to spell things correctly, that could be him.

More on all this here: Understanding Basic Due Diligence: How Cal Evans’ is Trying to Bury Negative Articles using Quora https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/08/27/understanding-basic-due-diligence-how-cal-evans-is-trying-to-bury-negative-articles-using-quora/ and https://www.quora.com/profile/Cal-Evans-19)

48. Cal Evans has created a fake Crunchbase profile to mess with SEO.

Same creepy AI-generated man, same fruitless attempt to suppress these articles.

(Sources: https://www.crunchbase.com/person/cal-evans-ce5d and https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/08/29/understanding-basic-due-diligence-how-cal-evans-of-gresham-international-has-created-fake-twitter-and-crunchbase-profiles-to-disrupt-search-results/)

49. Cal Evans has created fake LinkedIn profiles to mess with SEO.

Apparently when you Google ‘Cal Evans Gresham International’ or ‘Cal Evans Lawyer’ my articles exposing him as a fraud show up. That is why he has apparently hired a “social media manager” who thought it would be a good idea to write puff pieces under a clearly not “Cal Evans” name. My favorite part is that he has started incorporating the word ‘scam’ into his posts to once again throw of the search engines from finding these articles. It will not work but his attempts to do it not only show how unscrupulous he is but also incompetent.

(Source: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rashmi-tiwari-6b38882a5/)

50. Cal Evans has lied to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and said “Admission: Pennsylvania, pro hav vice 2013” on this website is deceptive.

In 2023, I received a call from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or the “State (sic) of State (sic) of Pensilvania (sic),” as Evans likes to put it.

Apparently, someone complained that me having “Admission: Pennsylvania, pro hac vice 2013” was deceptive, despite there being a well-documented and published history of my work there. Even after proving to PA that I had receipts, this still wasn’t enough for them. I showed them that their own laws, under which someone is admitted, call this an admission, albeit a temporary one, which is what pro hac vice means. Any reasonable person looking for a securities or blockchain lawyer would know to Google something they’ve never heard of, should that be the case. Evans claims this is deceptive, PA bought it, and now I’m going to be suing them both for this and a whole host of due process violations. More on that here: PART II: The Comedy of Cal Evans — How the Pennsylvania Bar was Scammed & Exposed Its Unconstitutional Attorney Discipline System https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/05/28/part-ii-the-comedy-of-evans-how-the-pennsylvania-bar-was-scammed-exposed-its-unconstitutional-attorney-discipline-system/

(But it was definitely Evans who complained. https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/special-notice-harassment-from-mr.-dunsmoor)

51. There is no such thing as the “UK Blockchain Taskforce.”

Evans loves to claim he is or was part of the ‘UK Blockchain Taskforce.’ The only problem is it does not appear to exist. Any Google search for reveals Evans or what sounds a lot like Evans.

There was a “Cryptoasset Taskforce” in October 2018 before he was licensed, but nothing there mentions Evans, Gresham International or even the British Blockchain Association. See: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22UK+Blockchain+taskforce%22.

52. No government will admit that Cal Evans has worked for them.

I’ve spoken with numerous governments and I cannot find one single government entity that has hired Gresham International and/or Cal Evans.

53. Cal Evans claims to have had the US Securities and Exchange Commission as a client.

Words cannot express how stupid this statement is. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission would never hire Cal Evans and/or Gresham International. That like the Mike Tyson picking a third grader to help him train. It does not make sense.

(Source: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link. Evans cleverly pulled this information down as anyone with knowledge of how governments hire outside counsel would laugh so hard their sides hurt with this list of so-called “clients.”)

54. Cal Evans claims to have had the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a client.

Evans switches to “assisted” here but we all know he is attempting to say they were clients as he mentions the Securities, (sic; incorrect comma) and Exchange Commission)

(Source: Naka legal opinion.pdf)

55. Cal Evans claims to have had the Bank of England as a client.

I’m sure Evans believe he can count the literal “Bank of England” as a client because he was part of some roundtable discussion with the British Blockchain Association and the Bank of England. However, I cannot find anyone to confirm that Evans or Gresham International was ever counsel to the Bank of England.

(Source: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link.)

56. Cal Evans claims to have had the Government of the Emirate of Dubai as a client.

Evans has claimed to have practice rights in Dubai and so many other lies it is hard to keep up. The belief that he was actually representing the Emirati of Dubai is pretty preposterous and I cannot find any proof of this online as well as any of these other claims.

(Source: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link.)

57. Cal Evans claims to have had the Republic of Albania as a client.

Once again, nothing in the public record. A government would either want this information public and promote it, or he is violating so-called “attorney-client” privledge though that may not apply to CILEX Chartered Legal Executives.

(Source: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link.)

58. Cal Evans claims to have had the federal administrative region of Labuan (Malaysia) as a client.

Again, he claims he was an “advisor” to the Malaysian government but all the digital records show its just more media promotions from Evans, however, this one is coupled with other lies we have discussed including advising Dubai and claiming to raise over $800 million dollars.

(Sources: Gresham International’s old website .pdf lin and https://regtech.apacciooutlook.com/vendor/gresham-international-the-compliance-and-legal-services-for-the-cryptolandscape-cid-5363-mid-392.html)

59. Cal Evans claims to have had the Plurinational State of Bolivia as a client.

This is incredibly funny to me. Evans claims to have send a memorandum of understanding (“MOU”) and we have no idea what that understanding was. For example, he could have asked “do CILEX Chartered Legal Executives with no practice rights in their home country, have practice rights in Bolivia?” This level of sheer obscurity is baffling especially to claim them as a client.

(Source: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link)

60. Cal Evans claims to have had the Republic of Paraguay as a client.

This one is my favorite because it goes to show the lengths in which Evans will lie. Evans has actually put multiple publications that suggest he is working with Paraguay but, as we saw above, it was just an alleged “MOU.” An MOU is not representing the government of the Republic of Paraguay but it gets better because in the original publication Evans makes sure they leave out “No habrá criptomoneda paraguaya” or “there will be no Paraguayan cryptocurrency.” The sheer ridiculousness of this cannot be understated.

(Sources: Gresham International’s old website .pdf link; https://bitfinance.news/en/paraguay-joins-the-group-of-countries-interested-in-cryptocurrencies/ and original article here: https://es.ambcrypto.com/ripple-xrp-jed-mccaleb-no-manipula-el-mercado-de-xrp/)

61. Cal Evans claims to have had the Republic of Estonia as a client.

I believe that Evans went to Estonia in 2017 and acted as legal counsel for the Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference in Tallinn (2017) and subsequently in or about 2020, he was told to stop claiming he worked there. I have been unable to find anyone in Estonia to verify that he worked there or that this series of events is true but he puts out a hit piece like he did for “Bobb” in Cointelegraph about Estonia that seems very on brand for him.

62. Cal Evans claims to have been an Air Force officer.

Evans claims at the Wyoming Hackathon Event that he’s a former “Air Force officer” but we can find no proof of that or anytime he’s made this claim which I personally think makes it another lie as he lied about so many things in this presentation as covered below.

(Source: https://youtu.be/M2Axp1dZxNQ?t=100 at ~1:46)

63. Evans claims to have been an “advisory board member” for Global Impact FinTech Forum (“GIFT”)

After reviewing Evans LinkedIn profile pages some of us have saved, I finally found out what “GIFT Advisory Singapore meant here. I am currently waiting on them to confirm his role in this organization.

(https://youtu.be/M2Axp1dZxNQ?t=100 at second slide. You have to love that “government advisor” role now has no countries after it during this 2021 and after all those clients disappeared from his website; https://www.startupgrind.com/events/details/startup-grind-tbilisi-presents-evolving-fintech-ecosystems-launch-of-eastern-european-network-of-global-impact-fintech-forum/)

64. Cal Evans claims to be able to practice law in New York as a “BOLE ID holder.”

A New York Board of Law Examiners ID is a number you’re given when you’re an applicant for the New York Bar. Evans thinks this means he can open a New York law firm because he is an idiot.

(Sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/Everex/comments/72ox64/receiving_email_asking_my_kyc/ and “Unlicensed Practice of Law screenshot”)

65. Cal Evans doesn’t know that the New York Bar Association isn’t a regulator.

The “New York Bar association (sic)” is a voluntary, professional organization. It is not a regulator and never has been. Despite this, Evans believes that is who he should report me to and has done so repeatedly. (More on that in upcoming articles)

(Source: https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/special-notice-harassment-from-mr.-dunsmoor; and yes the “Relevant (sic) Law (sic) enforcement authorities” have all laughed at him and/or are investigating his crimes now.)

66. Cal Evans failed to sufficiently compensate employee Joseph Johnson, leading to Johnson’s inability to pay child support and suspension of his law license

Joseph Johnson, a suspended California lawyer, worked for Evans and Gresham International since October 2022. In April 2024, Johnson was unable to keep up with child support payments, suggesting inadequate compensation from Evans. Johnson’s license is now indefinitely suspended.

What should be noted, is that it appears Johnson was not properly updating his “employment information” with the bar, as highlighted above. That could be other ethical and legal issues for unlawful activities. As well as Johnson continuing to hold himself out as “Attorney and business executive” on his LinkedIn profile nearly seven months after his indefinitely suspension.

(Sources: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jkjohnson/ and CA suspension status

67. Cal Evans couldn’t raise $3 million for his own startup, Fortune Wallet, despite claiming to have raised over a billion for clients

While Evans boasts about helping clients raise over a billion dollars, he failed to secure even $3 million for his own venture, Fortune Wallet, exposing a major discrepancy in his claimed fundraising abilities. This is especially more relevant given he has been trying to accomplish this raise since at least February 5, 2021.

(Yes, for startup founders, investors, real attorneys, etc., those numbers do not make sense and neither do “ordinary.”)

Also note how he leaves off all the so-called accomplishments on this list on his founder profile because, if he did include them, it could be considered wire and/or securities fraud.

68. Evidence of Cal Evans engaging in money laundering

These YouTube videos, as well as Evans role as a “data” compliance handler in the UK means that he has had the ability, access, knowledge and clearly broken moral compass to money launder. Here are the YouTube videos and passages from Evans’ own book allude to his involvement in money laundering schemes.

69. Cointelegraph fired Cal Evans upon discovering his fraudulent activities Evidence

Evans was fired then brought back in 2024 and then fired again. This is why his articles have his name removed from the top as author and his “workshops” have been stopped. Despite all this his profile still remains on Cointelegraph and he is mentioned in the bottom of his old articles where he began promulgating his lies about his experience and knowledge in the industry and law.

(Yes, this is the same article. Sources: https://cointelegraph.com/news/looking-at-legal-issues-of-ico-terms-and-conditions-dos-and-donts; https://cointelegraph.com/authors/cal-evans; and https://x.com/Cointelegraph/status/1775985442044993633)

70. No evidence of Cal Evans appearing on Bloomberg Television

Despite Bloomberg Television’s logo being prominently displayed on Gresham International’s website and mentioned in social media posts, no one has been able to find the interview or publication. I’ve request records or confirmation from Bloomberg about any appearances by Evans and have received nothing.

(Source: https://www.gresham-international.com/ and discussed in greater detail here: PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found; https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

71. All CryptoSlate articles are suspect.

CryptoSlate has been publishing Evans articles before he was licensed and at some point became Evans’ client. As seen below, this article was originally published in April 12, 2018, over a year from April 26, 2019 when Evans became a CILEX Chartered Legal Executive. His solicitation of U.S. companies gives the SEC nexus but more on that below.

(Sources:https://cryptoslate.com/sec-cryptocurrencies-overview/; https://cryptoslate.com/people/cal-evans/; https://www.gresham-international.com/)

72. Cal Evans’ CNBC interview invoked the Giza scam and was before he was licensed.

The only time we can find anything involving CNBC is when he was involved as “legal” for the Giza ICO scam. That’s right, he uses a piece of evidence that he’s been scamming before he was licensed on April 26, 2019 as bragging rights to be in CNBC.

(And as far as I can find, none of the scammers were caught. Not even, Evans, yet. Source: Cryptocurrency scammers run off with more than $2 million after ditching their investors by Arjun Kharpal, March 9 2018, https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/09/cryptocurrency-scammers-of-giza-make-off-with-2-million-after-ico.html)

73. Forbes called Cal Evans a “famous lawyer” in 2018 before he was licensed.

On May 31, 2018, nearly a year before being licensed by CILEX as a Chartered Legal Executive, Evans was quoted as a “famous crypto lawyer.” I’ve reached out to Forbes and the author, , for comment and have not received anything back as of September 6, 2024.

(Source: U.S. Trade Tariffs Would Support Bitcoin, End Of May Brings A New Day, Naeem Aslam, May 31, 2018, https://www.forbes.com/sites/naeemaslam/2018/05/31/us-trade-tariffs-would-support-bitcoin-end-of-may-brings-a-new-day/)

74. Cal Evans was never on Forbes’ “top five” of anything.

Evans likes to claim many things that cannot be proven. This is also one that has a high degree of falsity that we can presume it is either 100% false or that it is based on the fact he paid at Forbes contributor to call Gresham International a top five “Independent Cryptocurrency Compliance expert (sic) on or before February 19, 2019. At least a month before he was licensed by CILEX.

(Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/BuEj_8KhR1K/)

75. There is no evidence of Cal Evans being featured in HuffPost.

We cannot find this article and have reached out to Huffington Post to find out what the hell this was, but we see it mentioned here and it sounds like it was from sometime in 2017, so that was well before he was regulated by CILEX. But he mentions it here:

(Source: https://www.instagram.com/mrcalevans/p/Cn67L21Lsdd/?img_index=1 and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

76. Similarly Evans was featured in Buzzfeed but it was removed, presumably because he’s a fraud

Evans as seen here brags about Huffington Post and Buzzfeed where he claims to be a UK lawyer in 2017 despite not being licensed until April 26, 2023.

77. Cal Evans’ profile on IPWatchDog was has helped promulgate his lies

Despite being owned by a lawyer, proving that due diligence is something even the professionals can get wrong, IPWatchDog showcases the lies he started promulgating on April 25, 2016, and March 15, 2017, that he was a lawyer and knew what he was talking about. This is also where we see his made-up title of “litigation specialist,” the first lie about “honors” with his LLB, a claim of a master’s degree, and advising for the government. Additionally, despite his book claiming he was incredibly broke at this time, he made sure to let everyone know about his supposed lifestyle. He claimed to “split his time between London, Los Angeles and New York, working with law firms and companies on complex litigation.””

(Sources:https://ipwatchdog.com/author/calevans/ and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

78. Cal Evans claims to have had Cryptocoin News feature him.

You can’t make this up. This was another article about the Giza scam that thought it made him look good? And it was before he was “licensed” so how is he using “legal counsel?”

(Sources: Giza Revealed To Be Pyramid Scam, by Ali Raza, March 16, 2018, https://cryptocoin.news/news/bitcoin/giza-revealed-to-be-pyramid-scam-8916/ and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

79. Cal Evans had NewsBTC mentioned him and said he was a lawyer before he was licensed

Evans was licensed on April 26, 2019, but a year before, he’s claiming to be a lawyer and so much more: “Cal Evans is a lawyer and consultant on cryptocurrency agreements at Gresham International. As one of the few experts on international law regarding cryptocurrency, in his report, he will cover the legal aspects of blockchain projects.” Really tough to do that if you’re not licensed.

80. Evans was featured in a Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference post that contained many lies before he was licensed

Evans was featured as one of the speakers for the 2018 Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference in Thailand where numerous lies were spread, as highlighted below. This is probably because his client, EVEREX, was a significant sponsor of the event despite Evans not having any authority or license in Thailand.

(Source: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Compliance: presentation by Cal Evans, world-renowned lawyer, Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference, January 19, 2018, https://thailand.bc.events/en/news/blockchain-and-cryptocurrency-compliance-presentation-by-cal-evans-world-renowned-lawyer-82284 and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

81. Cal Evans was featured in CGTN before he was licensed

Evans was quoted in two articles in February 2019 by CGTN before he was licensed by CILEX in April 26, 2019.

82. Cal Evans has featured in Fintechtimes before he was licensed

I had to translate this one, but since it’s from November 2018, my god, look at the lies. They are underlined: “Cal EVANS (sic), one of the 5 most influential names in the cryptocurrency field, is coming to Istanbul. Cal Evans, one of the 5 most influential names in the field of Cryptocurrency (sic), registered by Forbes, is coming to Istanbul as one of the main speakers… which we (Fintechtimes) are the media sponsor. Who is Cal EVANS(sic)? Cal EVANS (sic) provides consultancy on the Blockchain (sic) economy to the governments of Malta, Dubai, Estonia, and the Bank of England, and is also a board member of the British Blockchain Association. Evans continues his work with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) and is committed to the development of the Blockchain community in line with international regulatory standards.”

83. There is no evidence that TRT featured Cal Evans.

We cannot find anything related to Gresham International or Cal Evans.

84. There is no evidence that Xinhua News Agency featured Cal Evans.

We cannot find this one either and have reached out.

85. Cal Evans was featured in the Bangkok Post.

Another practicing-before-licensed example from Feb. 27, 2018. This was over a year before he was licensed by CILEX on April 26, 2019. (I will be discussed EVERX in another month or so)

(Sources: Cal Evans – lawyer and consultant on cryptocurrency agreements at Gresham International, https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/general/1419227/blockchain-bitcoin-conference-thailand and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

86. There is no evidence of Cal Evans being featured in Crypto News Monitor.

We cannot find this article and have tried to reach out to Crypto News Monitor to find out what the hell this was but they appear defunct. In fact, when you search “Crypto News Monitor” and “Cal Evans” only my articles come up. It appears to be defunct as of September 16, 2019. A mere 143 days since Evans was licensed by CILEX on April 26, 2019.

(Sources: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Crypto+News+Monitor%22+%22cal+evans%22; https://x.com/cnmonitor; and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

87. Incomplete evidence of Cal Evans being featured in EasyJet was found, and it was probably removed because he’s a fraud.

Evans claimed to be featured in EasyJet and all we can find is this Instagram post. It is interesting to see in it that he called himself a “cryptocurrency compliance consultant and former advisor to the UK government.” EasyJet will not give me a copy of this publication. I wonder why.

(Sources: https://www.instagram.com/mrcalevans/p/CQ_5bgsL97d and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

88. There is no evidence of Cal Evans being featured in PaymentWeek.

We cannot find this article and have reached out to PaymentWeek to find out what was in it but as of September 6, 2024, I have received no response.

89. There is no evidence of Cal Evans being featured in Coinvedi.

Coinvedi, a now defunct crypto news media publisher, may have mentioned Evans as “legal advisor” as it related to one of his failed ICOs called “AirPod” (Apple AirPods came out in 2016 so a real attorney would have known to avoid that name like the plague.)

Sources: https://x.com/CoinVedi/status/988307700705525760; https://icoholder.com/en/airpod-ico-18851https://cryptoslate.com/companies/gresham-international/ and PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

90. No evidence of Cal Evans being “Lawyer SEO”

His ICOholder profile lists an unsubstantiated claim of him being in “Lawyer SEO” and this Twitter post on another failed ICO on March 21, 2018, (over a year before being licensed), he claimed to be published in Lawyer SEO. We can presume in this article that it called him a lawyer before being licensed which is why it has been removed.

91. Digital Journal removed an interview with Cal Evans

As discussed in PART VI: Cal Evans’ “Publishings” Are All Lies, Very Sketchy, and/or Cannot be Found, all of the “publishing” logos listed on Gresham International are either before he was licensed and/or cannot be found. Therefore everything he publishes it or is featured in, should be treated as susspect as we will see below.

(Source: https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/28/part-vi-cal-evans-publishings-are-all-lies-very-sketchy-and-or-cannot-be-found/)

92. Digital Journal removed an interview with Cal Evans

Evans shared a now-deleted Digital Journal interview post on LinkedIn. However, it was removed after his fraudulent activities were exposed.

93. Evans is actively pumping out garbage on Crypto News Focus

In order to bury the articles on this website, Evans is pumping out AI-generated articles on various blog posts including a small, unknown media platform called Crypto News Focus and may be considered “investment advice.”

(Source: https://cryptonewsfocus.com/author/cal-evans/)

94. There is no such thing as a “Litigation Expert.”

Evans sometimes claims the made up title of “Litigation Expert.” There is no such known or recognized title. This is like someone saying they are the Princess of Doritos or the King of Clapbacks. That’s all great but means nothing.

(Source: https://cryptoslate.com/people/cal-evans/ and yes CryptoSlate is his client per Gresham’s website.)

95. There is no such thing as a “US Securities Specialist.”

Similarly there is no such regulated profession or title called a “US Securities Specialist.” Though one could argue that this could be the practice of law because lawyers calling themselves “specialists” are often defined by the local jurisdiction in which they operate to use that term.

(Source: Email.pdf and yes, its almost comical to count the lies in these now but that’s why I’m doing this, so no one else has to deal with this scammer.)

96. Cal Evans’ patents will probably not survive a legal challenge.

I cannot get into the specifics here or Evans will wrongfully claim I’m practicing law but Evans patents will probably not stand up to litigation, at least in the US, as there are other patent holders that supersede if not have infringement claims against him. He thinks that he is the first one to have used names for addresses when Unstoppable Domains, ENS, and literal banks have developed patents or processes like this before his patent was filed.

97. Cal Evans doesn’t know what “mutual consent” means.

In May 2024, I received Cal Evans of Gresham International’s laughable cease-and-desist letter from a third party. Besides the numerous factual and legal flaws in this piece of trash, one of the more troubling elements was his use of “mutual consent” in the subject line. It is important to understand that for an agreement to be “mutual,” both parties must provide their informed consent, which I have not given and had not intentions to give. So, as I stated in my response to him I sincerely hope Evans does not require a more detailed explanation of the concept of “consent.” Any misunderstanding on his part may lead to
further, much more severe legal consequences unrelated to the matters on the list.

98. Cal Evans definitely committed the crime of the unlicensed practice of law in Wisconsin.

As we discussed above, he’s received a referral from the Wisconsin Supreme Court and, as we will see below, he has claimed he is licensed in the United States and holds a Wisconsin law license. These claims are far outside his practice rights and significantly beyond the scope of his “Stonehouse Properties LLC”.

(Sources: Ardana and Naka legal opinons. pdf and discussed more here: PART IV: Cal Evans Receives a Criminal Referral from the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/06/11/part-iv-evans-receives-a-criminal-referral-from-the-supreme-court-of-wisconsin/)

99. Cal Evans definitely committed the crime of the unlicensed practice of law in Wyoming.

Evans formed Gresham International in Wyoming on October 31, 2015, well before he was licensed by CILEX as a Chartered Legal Executive on April 26, 2019. Furthermore, he promoted Gresham International and himself in Wyoming by attending conferences, publishing articles, and even claiming on his Gitbook that he had worked with the state legislature. Although, as you will see below, it is unlikely that this claim is true, making such an assertion would lead a reasonable person to believe he is licensed to practice law in Wyoming.

100. Cal Evans definitely committed the crime of the unlicensed practice of law in California.

Evans has never had a law license in the United States especially in California. However, as early as 2017 he was performing legal work as evidence here by these Trust Pilot reviews for “Greshaminternational.”

(Source: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/greshaminternational.com)

101. Cal Evans definitely committed the crime of the unlicensed practice of law in New York.

(TO BE DISCUSSED SHORTLY)

102. Cal Evans has violated US securities law by issuing the Aubit Legal Opinion.

On or about March, 2020, Evans authored and issued a legal opinion to Aubit Group of Companies C/O AIM Management Cayman Islands for an ICO. Evans has never had a US law license thereby making this a completely illegal opinion.

103. Cal Evans has violated US securities law by issuing the Ardana Legal Opinion.

On or about August 17, 2021, Evans authored and issued a legal opinion to Ardana Labs, Inc. for an ICO. Evans has never had a US law license thereby making this a completely illegal opinion.

(Source: proton .pdf)

104. Cal Evans has violated US securities law by issuing the Naka Legal Opinion.

On or about September 2021, Evans authored and issued a legal opinion to NAKA Technologies, Limited for an ICO. Evans has never had a US law license thereby making this a completely illegal opinion.

(Source: Proton .pdf and yes, he didn’t capitalize “Esq.” properly.)

105. Cal Evans bragged about an ICO recently and then its price collapsed.

These pictures are pretty self explanatory:

106. Cal Evans definitely committed securities fraud and wire fraud violations by lying in the Bitfineon press release.

This is going to be a bigger article because it’s fascinating and a great educational, Understanding Basic Due Diligence article but here’s is press release:

And here are the lies:

(1.) Bitfineon Ltd’s was not located in Hong Kong S.A.R., Hong Kong

(2.) Cal Evans could not serve as general counsel and compliance officer in Germany, United Kingdom, or Hong Kong

(3.) Cal Evans lied about being featured in CNBC because it involved the Giza scam

(4.) Cal Evans was featured in Forbes before he was licensed and called a “famous lawyer.”

(5.) Cal Evans legal contributions being featured in Cointelegraph (fired him after discovering his fraud)

(6.) Cal Evans lied about being featured in Huffington Post (article not found)

(12.) Cal Evans lied about practice rights in the United States (he had absolutely none in 2020)

107. The book “The Little Book of Crypto” authored by Cal Evans is terrible and full of incorrect information.

On September 1, 2019, approximately four months after being licensed by CILEX, Evans releases “The Little Book of Crypto: : A No BS Introduction To Crypto. I have read this book and I DO NOT encourage you to unless you want a laugh. It is full of wrong and misleading information to the point it would take longer than this list to correct it all. So, I will let Jack Martin of Cointelegraph do the work here:

108. Cal Evans paid for the award “Top Speaker – Global Genesis 2019.”

The legitimacy of an award can often be gauged by its regularity and consistency. Prestigious awards like the Olympic Games, held every four years, and the Emmys, Oscars, SAG-AFTRA Awards, Golden Globes, and major sports championships like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS, which occur annually, have established themselves as credible and respected accolades within their respective fields.

In contrast, when an award has a single, seemingly random winner and no clear criteria or competition for the title of “Top Speaker,” it raises questions about the award’s authenticity and value. Such awards are more likely to be purchased by the recipient or granted as a favor to a sponsor, rather than being earned through merit or objective evaluation.

This practice is particularly prevalent in the cryptocurrency industry, especially in Southeast Asia, where awards are often viewed as a form of recognition that can be bought or negotiated. However, in the United States, there is a clear distinction between winning a prestigious, internationally recognized award like an Olympic gold medal and receiving an obscure, potentially fabricated award that lacks credibility and significance within the industry.

It is worth noting that the “Top Speaker” award in question was given in November 2019 (I reasonably believe), just months after Cal Evans received his legal license in April of the same year. This short timeframe between licensing and receiving a “top” award further underscores the dubious nature of the accolade and raises doubts about its legitimacy.

Note: It could be 2018 as he lists here but that could be one of his infamous typos because I cannot find anything related to “Global Genesis” and blockchain. Though it may have not been blockchain related.

109. Cal Evans paid for the award “Crypto Lawyer of the Year – WBS 2021.”

Similarly, Evans’ self-purchased title “Crypto Lawyer of the Year” from World Blockchain Summit (WBS) Trescon, which he subsequently brags about being the “King” of in his Instagram post, is highly questionable at best and a complete farce at worst. According to a Google search, there have been no other “Crypto Lawyer of the Year” awards given by WBS Trescon since or before Evans received the title, making it highly likely that this award was paid for, especially considering his client was a sponsor at the event. A more fitting title would be the “King Con” or the “Crypto Con Lawyer,” in my humble opinion, given this extensive list of alleged deception and misconduct.

(https://www.instagram.com/mrcalevans/p/CVCgOHaLX2B; https://www.instagram.com/tresconglobal/p/CVAUiYVllJv/; and https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Crypto+Lawyer+of+the+Year%22+%22WBS%22)

110. Cal Evans paid for the award “Blockchain Lawyer of the Year – AIBC 2022.”

AIBC and Cal Evans appear to have a close financial relationship but we will discuss that more in . Despite evidence of Evans’ alleged misconduct, AIBC continues to promote him prominently, raising questions about the organization’s integrity. Evans may have an ownership stake in the conference, though this is unconfirmed.

Notice he was given “𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐍 (sic) 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐” and The “Blockchain Lawyer of the Year” but Evans has “British English. Either way, the award given to Evans by AIBC in 2022 lacks credibility. Evans is the sole recipient, and the award was not given in 2021 or 2023 despite AIBC hosting multiple conference all over the world. (I’m sure they will do a 2024 one if they read this) This suggests it was created specifically for Evans, likely as a favor to a financial benefactor rather than a legitimate honor.

111. Cal Evans presumably paid for the award “Law Firm of the Year – Corporate Excellence 2022

I cannot find this one but I did find this one for “Gersham” (sic) International for the firm wins “Most
Outstanding Crypto Lawyer 2022 – UK.” Now I’m not because it positive but he might not list this one because they misspelled that “Gresham” as “Gersham.” Or, it could be that he doesn’t like being considered a law firm in the United Kingdom. Time will tell.

112. Cal Evans paid for the award “Independent Cryptocurrency Law Firm of The Year – Global”

Judging is hard. How do you know if someone is the best pickleball player in the world? How do you know if that dog groomer is the best? Well, these fools have the answer: pay us money and we will claim you are the best! Let me make this abundantly clear: no one can judge this many (400+) categories and rightfully come away and say they are professional enough, objective enough, and have enough global data to say “X” is the best in the world. That’s where these awards fall apart. Unless it’s some industry-recognized entity that is far better than some random organization who accepts money to give you an award. But here is why Evans cannot play that game in his own words:

(Source: The Little Book of Crypto: A No BS Introduction To Crypto by Cal Evans (September 1, 2019) and https://internationalelite100.com/2023-winners-1,)

113. Cal Evans doesn’t live in Monaco and was in the “40 under 40” because he paid for it.

Unlike almost all “(City/Country) 40 under 40” lists, Monaco 40 under 40 does not care if you do not live or reside in Monaco. It cares that you can pay. If you can, you’re on the list! The truly astounding part of all this is the lack of information related to the selection process and the limited amount of information on Evans. He must have known that this was a risk or that Monaco would not look favorable on him claiming all his “noteworthy” allocated that he has lied about here.

(Note: That’s it! Look for yourself on the here: Source: https://monacovoice.com/en/article/cal-evans; and see https://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/40-under-40 and https://fortune.com/ranking/40-under-40/)

114. Cal Evans has paid for countless conference speaking slots, especially at AIBC, to promote these lies or others related to his scam that is Gresham International.

No one on the face of the planet has support Evans more than AIBC. I do not know whether it is because he is an investor or he just pays them so much, as claimed here on DLNews. But at this point we have evidence dating back to 2019 of him speaking with on their stages multiple times a year. This is going to be a much longer article for “Understanding Basic Due Diligence” but just know that if there is an AIBC conference, there is a good chance that Evans is going to speak at it including this coming November! (I have reached out to AIBC and SiGMA (sic) multiple times to warn them of this fraudster and nothing has been done.)

(Sources: https://aibc.world/news/crypto-gaming-risk-reward-keynote-cal-evans/; https://aibc.world/news/cal-evans-urges-ai-blockchain-investors-to-focus-on-tangible-value/; and https://aibc.world/europe/speakers/)

115. Cal Evans falsely claimed to have contributed to or authored academic papers, research, and legislation related to cryptocurrency or blockchain technology.

The amount of research materials that are corrupt because of his 2017 article in Cointelegraph (the same Cointelegraph that falsely claimed he went to Yale and worked at top law firms) is significant. His “Do’s and Don’ts for White Papers” article has been quoted more times than I care to count. This matters because it’s fundamentally a terrible article, devoid of real information, especially as it relates to the law, and therefore should never have been cited in so many law review articles and research papers. This issue is compounded by his tendency to claim he had MOUs with various countries, or in the case of Panama and Bermuda, had puff pieces published that make it sound like he is drafting legislation. I’ve been unable to find any evidence of this work, and no one will confirm his alleged involvement in these countries.

(Sources: This list)

116. Cal Evans engaged in plagiarism or intellectual property theft by copying content, ideas, or legal strategies from other sources without proper attribution.

As discussed above and throughout this list, Evans has no problem stealing others ideas or claiming certain titles as his own. Whether its “HTO Pioneer” before he was licensed or claiming to be the “Original Crypto Lawyer” even though he was licensed in 2019. His use of Cointelegraph in the early days has allowed his “Yale” and “top California law firm” claims to live on past there fact checking.

(Sources:

117. He misrepresents the size, scope, or capabilities of Gresham International, such as claiming to have offices in multiple jurisdictions and employing a large team of experts.

As mentioned above, Evans could not keep up with Johnson’s obligations and Johnson is the only one who has Gresham International on his LinkedIn profile. There is no way that Evans and Gresham International actually have a large team of experts. The other members of the so-called “Senior” Team do not have their affiliation with Gresham International on their LinkedIn profiles despite having very active and/or up-to-date profiles. This suggest that Evans isn’t paying them enough to be full time or enough to have Gresham International and all its lies follow them.

(Source: https://www.gresham-international.com/)

118. He misrepresents his philanthropic activities, charitable contributions, or social responsibility initiatives to bolster his public image.

In one of his more odd displays of how normal and caring he is, Evans has claimed to “In that time we have made donations to or assisted/lectured” at the following schools, listed below. The problem is, there isn’t a lot of evidence to show that any of this is true. Sure, institutions don’t generally issue press releases for this type of thing, but it’s weird that he states he’s donated or assisted. What does “assisted” mean? He cleaned up the bathroom? Put down some chairs? Turned off the lights? No one knows. But you can tell he cares because these were his contributions for 2021! We, however, have no idea what his contributions before or after were.

(Source: https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/statements)

119. He claims to not service US clients or companies despite significant evidence to the contrary.

Evans does not understand how contracts work and he also doesn’t understand how notice requirements and fee splitting as lawyers works. That is why in his Gitbook for Gresham International, he contradicts himself numerous times and makes non-legally binding statements while implicating himself in the crime of requiring the so called client to hire “Gresham International’s of counsel” in order to receive a referral for U.S. representation. That is a violation of probably every bar rule in every jurisdiction in the United States especially considering both he and Johnson no longer having any practice rights in the United States.

(Source: https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/notice-for-u.s-persons)

120. He does not understand what Terms of Service are.

Gresham International as an organization do not know what “Terms of Service” means and what “notice” means. In order for terms of service to be valid, there has to be acknowledgement and accepted, as discussed next in the contract law part, but Gresham International and Evans do not understand this. That is why their Terms of Service for the law firm is all the way down at the bottom of their website in a tiny little font and link that no one can see. Thus making all the terms and conditions in there completely unenforceable, generally speaking.

(Source: https://www.gresham-international.com/)

121. He does not understand what consideration is for contract law.

Now I cannot go to deep into this without Evans claiming I’m practicing law, but contracts must have, generally speaking: Offer, consideration, capacity to contract, and mutual agreement between the parties. If something is missing from this formula there is no contract. That is why when going to the “Statement(s), Notices and Terms” of the Gresham International website you will see things that cannot be arbitrarily “signed away” by using their stupid website. Here is my favorite:

(Source: https://gresham-international.gitbook.io/gresham-international-website-documents/special-terms-investment-purchase-participation and https://ironcladapp.com/journal/contracts/contract-law/)

122. He is absolutely atrocious at grammar, spelling, and proper capitalization (and this says a lot coming from me).

As we have seen throughout this list, Evans hates the English language. He does not know how to use spell check, is adamantly against proper capitalization, and shows a thorough divorce from any attempt to use proper grammar. From “Law office (sic),” “Bobb (sic),” “corproate (sic),” and my personal favorite, “State (sic) of State (sic) of Pensilvania (sic),” he does not understand the language that originates from the same country he does, which, as a lawyer, is an issue.

(Sources:

123. He claims to be the largest cryptocurrency or digital asset firm despite significant evidence to the contrary.

Not only does Evans claim to be “the Original Crypto Lawyer” (or at least tried to claim it), he also attempts to claim he is the largest cryptocurrency or digital asset firm without any proof and significant evidence that shows no one really works for him but Johnson, as they are the only two people that list Gresham International on their LinkedIn profiles. There are significantly larger firms than just two people. Its also likely that Johnson isn’t full time either or why else would he not be able to keep up with his monetary obligations to his child and/or family. Either way, the claim that Gresham International is the largest digital asset or cryptocurrency law firm is a joke especially since he called himself that on February 14, 2021 and Johnson didn’t start until October 2022 according to his LinkedIn profile.

124. Evans is actively trying to suppress these articles

Evans will do everything he can to suppress this list as he has created a number of Medium.com articles and weird AI-generated articles on various blogs to aid in that effort. As discussed here and seen here: Understanding Basic Due Diligence: How Cal Evans’ is Trying to Bury Negative Articles using Medium.com https://dunsmoorlaw.com/2024/08/26/understanding-basic-due-diligence-how-cal-evans-is-trying-to-bury-negative-articles-using-medium/)

125. ICO Bench may have flagged issues with Cal Evans in 2018

Regardless of your thoughts on ICO Bench, in a June 2018 Medium post, Evans alleged that ICO Bench forced a friend to remove him from an ICO, prompting Evans to write a hit piece on the platform. The post also mentioned ICO Bench requesting Evans’ “documents,” likely to verify his legal qualifications, which he claims he wasn’t willing to provide but in reality probably could not provide. He then goes on to publish this on his LinkedIn that I believe he will come to regret. He uses the hashtag, I kid you not, #leaveittotheprofessionals.

126. Evans was published in the Epoch Times

On November 24, 2023, Evans gave an interview for the Epoch Times, the same company whose CFO has recently been charged with money laundering and has a history of questionable journalistic practices. However, its Evans’ interpretation of US “securities breaches” (I believe he means “securities violations” but he truly has no respect for the English language as we’ve seen here.) and what sounds like solicitation as well an admission that he knows he wasn’t licensed. I will let you be the judge.

127. Evans Was Involved in an Ethics Compliance Organization Based in Singapore

(Updated December 4, 2024) Evans was part of an “ethics compliance organization” in Singapore. The founder has personally informed me that they were unaware of Evans’ fraudulent activities and deceit, nor were they involved in any of it and no one was harmed by their organization. This demonstrates that even the most well-meaning individuals or organizations can be deceived by skilled con men like Evans. It also underscores the importance of vigilance and making this information publicly available to protect others. If you are a regulator, please reach out to me if you need this information for use against Evans.

128. Evans has paid to be in Corporate Investment Times to appear competent

This Corporate Investment Times article was published in July 2019. For arguments sake, lets say its July 31, 2019 to give Evans the benefit of the doubt, which would mean he had been licensed by CILEX and astounding 96 days. However, according to this article, he had already accomplished so many lies including claiming to be:

(1) Market Leading Cryptocurrency Lawyer, as discussed above at throughout this list.
(2) Strategy Expert, as discussed above at: 94 and 95
(3) HTO Pioneer, as discussed above at: 45
(4) Top Five Independent Cryptocurrency Compliance expert (sic) (as rated by Forbes), as discussed above at: 74
(5) Top speaker Global Genesis 2018, as discussed above at: 108 *Note its unclear whether it was 2018 because we cannot find it.
(6) Author: IPWatchdog, before being licensed, as discussed above at: 77
(7) Author: Cointelegraph, before being licensed, as discussed above at: 69
(8) Author: Cryptoslate, before being licensed and as his client, as discussed above at: 71
(9) Author: CryptoDaily, as his client, as discussed below at: 135
(10) Government Advisor to Estonia, as discussed above at: 61
(11) Government Advisor to Malta (I haven’t found anyone in Malta to confirm this)
(12) Government Advisor to the non-existent UK Blockchain Taskforce, as discussed above at: 51
(13) UK Lawyer, note how he states “UK Lawyer” here and then CILEX because he wants to appear to be a solicitor or he is incompetent and missed that he put “Licensed CILEx Lawyer” below it. – Related to 7, 8, 9
(14) A non-existent title of “US securities (sic) Consultant (sic)”, as discussed above at: 94 and 95
(15) A “CILEX Lawyer”; highlighted in blue. – Related to 7, 8
(16) Member of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (Non-Practicing) Member of the Solicitors Regulatory, as discussed at: 10

129. Evans has paid to be in APAC Entrepreneur and APAC CIO to appear legitimate

I am awaiting confirmation on when these APAC Entrepreneur and APAC CIO articles were published but as we can see here, there are so many great lies and confessions including my favorites “We are essentially a law firm.” and “There are many lawyers who work in Crypto (sic) these days; we are one of the originals.”

(Note: The beginning of this story covers some of what I reasonably believe to be Evans so-called issues with his father, Colin Evans, who is the legal owner and sole director of Gresham International in the UK. It should not be lost that on the reader that this is where the need for lying to impress his father comes from, in my humble opinion. 130. Evans has paid to be in LV Magazine

In March 2021, Evans was featured on the cover of LV Magazine. I am waiting to find out the contents.

131. Evans has paid to be in Global Millionaire to appear affluent

In April 2022, Evans paid to appear on the cover of Global Millionaire Magazine in a failed attempt to portray affluence. This is the same year he subsequently hired Joseph Johnson in October, who was later indefinitely suspended from the California bar for failing to pay child/family support. This occurrence provides a compelling insight into Evans’ motivations and confirms that he had nothing when he started Gresham International (which I presume he will use as his excuse for the unlicensed practice of law in California). It also reveals that he did not work at a top California law firm and that he knew he couldn’t take the bar in California because he lacks a Juris Doctor degree and sufficient time as an apprentice (which also explains his hatred for American lawyers). Furthermore, Kevin Soltani, who presumably was Evans’ roommate at the time, mentioned here is also part of Gresham International. The Newport Beach address listed above for Evans’ Wisconsin in-house practice rights was a PO Box address, and Soltani still resides there according to his active LinkedIn profile.

(Note: While I truly do feel bad about his mom passing, that is no excuse to break the law and commit fraud. It’s reasonable to presume that any mother would be ashamed of her son if even 1/10 of these facts are true, let alone a list of over 100+ lies, frauds, scams, etc. Sources: https://globalmillionairemag.com/2022/04/13/cal-evans/; https://www.linkedin.com/in/kevinsoltani/; https://www.loopnet.com/property/4533-macarthur-blvd-newport-beach-ca-92660/06059-42711109/; and https://gresham-international.com/)

132. Evans claims to have helped draft the “2011 Agency Workers Regulations” in the UK.

There is no evidence to suggest that Evans worked on the “2011 Agency Workers Regulations” in the United Kingdom. I am still asking around but have found no evidence that this is the case other than Evans’ own statements and we know how baseless those often are.

(Source: https://icoholder.com/en/people/cal-evans-446)

133. No such title as “UK Corporate Defense Lawyer”

Evans claims the the title “UK Corporate Defense Lawyer” but it does not exist within the UK legal system.

(Note that this is one of his oldest profiles and shows the willingness and depth of lying and fraud to which he is willing to go. Notice the old photo and the old ICOs. Sources: https://icoholder.com/en/people/cal-evans-446; https://www.google.com/search?q=%22corporate+defense+lawyer%22+%22United+Kingdom%22 and https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukdsi/2014/9780111121597)

134. Evans is not a member of the Law society (sic) of England and Wales

In order to join the Law society (sic) of England and Wales the person must be registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”). As seen above, SRA does not regulate Evans or CILEX Chartered Legal Executives (yet) so he could not be a member of the Law society (sic) of England and Wales.

(Sources: https://icoholder.com/en/people/cal-evans-446 and https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/career-advice/becoming-a-solicitor/membership-of-the-law-society#:~:text=How%20to%20join,solicitors%20in%20England%20and%20Wales.)

135. Evans has used his client CryptoDaily to spread lies and at least one issue hit piece

As discussed 39, Evans has used his client CryptoDaily to issue a hit piece against the lawyer Robert “Bobb(sic)” Cornish for suing him in Wyoming for the Aubit/Freeway fraud. However, CryptoDaily has also allowed Evans to spread his lies and misrepresentations as seen in his public profile on the website (note, it doesn’t state anywhere that he represents CryptoDaily, which is in general a huge conflict of interest but as is his entire career as you have now seen).

136. We have no evidence that he has been published or mentioned in the Wall Street Journal

As seen above, in 135, Evans claims to have been featured in… “WSJ” or the Wall Street Journal. A Google search will show that to be false for both “Cal Evans” and “Gresham International.”

(Sources: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Wall+Street+Journal%22+%22gresham+international%22 and https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Wall+Street+Journal%22+%22cal+evans%22)

137. (Updated December 4, 2024) Evans has admitted to copyright fraud by unlawfully selling bootleg versions of Windows

In the subsection titled “About Me” in his book The Little Book of Crypto: A No BS Introduction To Crypto, Evans brazenly admits to committing multiple felonies under U.S. law. He boasts that he used to download bootleg versions of Windows and sell them on PCs he allegedly built.

This is not only a serious federal crime, but one that carries severe penalties – up to $250,000 in fines per incident and potential jail time. By his own published admission, Evans has engaged in large-scale copyright infringement and software piracy for profit.

This revelation is part of a larger exposé on the many inaccuracies, falsehoods and questionable content found in Evans’ book. However, this particular criminal confession was so egregious it warranted immediate highlighting.

Evans’ cavalier attitude towards intellectual property theft and his willingness to put it in print speaks volumes about his character and disregard for the law. This is the same individual presenting himself as an expert on legal and compliance issues in the crypto space. The irony is as stunning as the admission is damning.

Potential clients, conference organizers, and media outlets should be aware that by his own words, the self-proclaimed “Crypto Lawyer” is an admitted criminal. This calls into question his integrity, judgment and claimed expertise on all matters legal and ethical.

Regulators and law enforcement should also take note, as Evans has provided published evidence of his past crimes, which may warrant investigation and prosecution. No one is above the law, least of all those who purport to be legal authorities.

(Sources: The Little Book of Crypto: A No BS Introduction To Crypto by Cal Evans, “About Me” subsection; and 17 U.S.C. § 506, 18 U.S.C. § 2319 – Criminal Infringement of a Copyright) )

  1. (Updated December 4, 2024) Evans brags about committing Microsoft software piracy felonies while at their headquarters

In his book The Little Book of Crypto, Cal Evans openly boasts about engaging in software piracy and copyright infringement of Microsoft products, while allegedly sitting in their Seattle headquarters. He gleefully recounts selling bootleg Windows copies to people he ironically calls “adopters of Windows technology.”
The audacity of committing these crimes and then bragging about them in print, while claiming to be at the very company he’s stealing from, is staggering. It showcases Evans’ utter disregard for the law and basic business ethics.
This anecdote further undermines Evans’ credibility and fitness to advise anyone on legal matters. His actions are incompatible with the standards expected of any professional, especially one claiming legal expertise. I’m sure “Bill” would appreciate it.
(Source: The Little Book of Crypto: A No BS Introduction To Crypto by Cal Evans, “About Me”)

  1. (Updated December 4, 2024) Evans’ ridiculous 3.5-page cease-and-desist to my web host contained approximately 153 CILEx Code of Conduct violations (2.5 per line)! Including:
  • Falsely claiming to be suing Twitter/X and Microsoft
  • Lying about being UK-based (lives in Wisconsin)
  • Making bogus racism claims (we’re both white and I’m not racist, he’s a moron ).
  • Can’t spell “judgement (sic)” while threatening legal action
  • Demanding host ignore fair use and remove content
  • Weaponizing unenforceable Terms of Service

The letter is riddled with legal incompetence, unauthorized practice of law, and deceptive statements. It provides overwhelming evidence for suspending Evans’ CILEx membership and launching a full investigation. 1. (Updated December 18, 2024) Evans unlawfully claimed he was “US in (sic) house counsel” in October 2020

Evans was permitted “in-house practice rights” in Wisconsin on January 22, 2021, however, at least 4 months before that he was promoting himself as “US in (sic) house counsel” at the WyoHackathon in 2020. See 17. Cal Evans has never been licensed in Wisconsin. (You can tell it was Evans who wrote this by the number of grammatical and capitalization errors.)

  1. (Updated December 18, 2024) Evans literally taught a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) course on “Legal Ethics,” with a focus on digital asset money laundering.

On Friday, September 25, 2020 at 3:00pm MDT Evans taught a Continuing Legal Education worthy course called, and as you see above I’m not lying, Legal Ethics: Digital Asset Money Laundering. Given the amount of scams and rug pulls he has been a part of even before being licensed, I have no doubt he knows how to lauder crypto and this proves it. 1. (Updated December 23, 2024) Evans claimed to be a lawyer on Crowdfunder UK a full 616 days before receiving his CILEx license

In August 2017, Evans created a Crowdfunder UK profile where he falsely presented himself as a “Lawyer and Compliance Professional” while attempting to raise funds for a legal advice bot startup. This occurred 616 days before he received his CILEx license on April 26, 2019. The writing style on the profile matches Evans’ characteristic pattern of multiple grammatical and capitalization errors in a single sentence:
Did you know…(sic) In (sic) England and Wales you can be an Employee (sic), Worker (sic), Contractor (sic), Temp (sic), Student (sic), Apprentice (sic), or Self(sic)Employed (sic)?
Neither do most people? (sic)” (Source: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/launch-a-legal-help-bot-for-company-startups)
This timeline aligns with Evans’ own account in his book about returning from California due to financial difficulties, yet he was already presenting himself as a qualified legal professional.

He formed Gresham International in Wyoming on October 31, 2015 which puts this timeline for August 2017 in proper order. 1. (Updated December 23, 2024) Evans’ legal advice bot crowdfunding campaign received zero contributions

(Source: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/launch-a-legal-help-bot-for-company-startups)

The Crowdfunder UK campaign launched by Evans in August 2017 for his legal advice bot startup was completely unsuccessful, receiving absolutely no contributions during its 21-day run before closing on September 8, 2017.

(Sources: Crowdfunder UK correspondence dated December 23, 2024, confirming “The project was active for 21 days and ended on September 8, 2017, at 15:10. It did not receive any contributions and, as a result, was closed unsuccessfully.”)

The campaign’s failure is particularly notable given that:

  1. Evans was presenting himself as a lawyer despite not being licensed at the time
  2. The project appeared to involve providing automated legal advice without proper qualifications or authorization

This adds to the pattern of failed ventures and misrepresentation in Evans’ career before obtaining his CILEx license.

This is not the end of the list, this is just a temporary pause until I discover more lies, falsities, fraud, and levels of deceit and incompetency that broadline on the criminally insane.

Even if Evans manages to somehow disprove 90% of the listed items, which equates to approximately 125 entries, there would still be 14 instances of lies, falsifications, misrepresentations, or other forms of deception remaining. This significant number of unresolved issues would continue to raise serious concerns about Evans’ credibility, integrity, and professional conduct.

In any field, especially in the legal profession, maintaining a high standard of honesty and accuracy is paramount. The presence of even a handful of demonstrably false or misleading statements can erode trust and cast doubt on an individual’s overall reliability and competence.

Therefore, it is crucial to thoroughly investigate and address each of these claims to ensure that the truth is brought to light and that any pattern of deceptive behavior is exposed and appropriately dealt with. Only by holding individuals accountable for their actions can we foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and professionalism within the industry.

If you are a regulator and made it this far and need more information, please let me know by reaching out at Dunsmoor.io. I’d be happy to send originals or provide you with more context than my brief overview here. I have not included a lot of the “ICO clients” for them to strike deals where necessary with regulators and/or law enforcement.
